Mathew Geffin (“Mat”) is a Partner with Alera Group. Mat has been in the industry for the past 15 years as both a risk management broker and consultant, specializing in the needs of growing and complex organizations in managing their company’s risks. His approach is to look deep into the operational structure and management of an organization to understand where exposures are present and how best to manage those. His team then assists the client, not only with structuring the right insurance program but also providing hands-on services, trainings and recommendations to improve the organization's operations, thus driving down total cost of risk. Mat is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), having earned this designation in 2017.

In addition to his work with his clients, Mat is also the board Treasurer for Clinical and Support Options, Inc., a large human service agency in Western Massachusetts that does work in the homeless, mental health and supportive housing space throughout the pioneer valley.
